Thomas O'Brien

Thomas O'Brien is a world-renowned American interior designer and founder of Aero Studios and store. O'Brien's work is very much inspired by the city in which he is based; he states that moving to New York City was always one of his dreams. His approach to design has been influenced by his exposure to the city's rich art scene and museum culture. He is known for a variety of interior experiential services, including architecture, interior design and industrial design. O'Brien combines practical and useful elements with rare finds to create eye-catching spaces that exemplify vintage interior design with a modern twist. O'Brien uses various creative mediums such as photography, typography, print work and storytelling to enhance his design work. The features play off of one another to create layered, functional spaces that incorporate retro furniture elements with unique touches such as contemporary art and vintage posters. His studio, Aero, is well-known for office chair design, modern and vintage tableware, light fixtures, home accessories, bedding and bath accessories, rugs, wooden sideboards and buffets. O’Brien and the team at Aero Studios frequently partner with companies such as Waterworks, Groundworks, William-Sonoma Inc, Reed & Barton and Target. O'Brien is also the author of three design books, Aero: Beginning to Now, American Modern and Thomas O'Brien: Library House.
