Known for his sleek, sophisticated and masterfully designed furnishings and lighting, Rodolfo Dordoni creates statement pieces that transform any area of the home. Born in Milan in 1954, Dordoni graduated with an architecture degree from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1979. He embarked on an impressive journey in the design field after that, first working in art direction with brands such as Cappellini and Artemide before joining forces with the likes of Minotti and Roda for outdoor furniture. He even created lamps for Foscarini. Among his most notable creations are his Boboli table and Pilotta chair, along with the Salina bed for Flou, a luxury Italian bed design house. In addition to his many designer collaborations, Dordoni also found time to open his architectural business in early 2005. He established Dordoni Architetti with Alessandro Acerbi and Luca Zaniboni, with whom he worked alongside for many years. At this company, a team of approximately 20 designers and architects devise architectural layouts and interior design plans for residences, commercial buildings and industrial settings. Some of the company’s most notable projects include the conceptualization of Dolce & Gabbana boutiques worldwide, the menswear department of the Milanese department store, La Rinascente, and the completion of ZERO Contemporary Food, a Japanese restaurant in Milan. Dordoni and his associates also work on concepts for apartment buildings and private villas throughout Europe.
