Nancy Caperton

Boasting a background in furniture development, it was only natural that Nancy Caperton would ultimately develop her own range of meticulously designed pieces. Founded in 2010 in Dallas, her eponymous brand specializes in high-end, eye-catching upholstered furniture that runs the gamut from classic to modern. Caperton partnered with the master upholsterer, Jesus Marroquin, to develop her forward-thinking Caperton Collection. The line appears in some of the country’s most notable locations, including Mimi London in Los Angeles, Shears & Window in San Francisco, Holly Hunt in Washington, D.C., Michael Taylor Designs in New York, Jim Thompson Fabrics in Atlanta, Egg & Dart in the Denver Design District and Studio 534 in Boston. Each piece is meticulously finished with careful attention to detail, and the results are apparent. It begins inside the company’s workshop, where kiln-dried hardwoods form the frames for sofas, lounge chairs, ottomans, bar stools and dining chairs, to name a few items from the vast lineup. Exposed areas of wood are crafted of dependable, solid mahogany. This stable foundation contributes to construction that you can trust. The upholstery is what helps the Caperton Collection stand out from its peers. The process is thoughtful and intricate, thanks to the addition of durable foam, battings and muslin. The trio of material form a comfortable supporting layer for the topmost fabric, which is applied with the utmost precision to ensure a stylish and attractive appearance. Handmade to perfection, all pieces are treated much like luxury garments — they’re pinned, sewn and adjusted for the perfect fit before they reach the showroom.
