Marc Newson

Marc Newson is an Australian-born industrial designer whose talents seem to know no bounds. Now living and working in London, his wide range of disciplines includes technology, transportation, fashion, and luxury goods for some of the best known and most prestigious brands in the world, like Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Nike, and Hermès. He had his first solo exhibition at 23 years old with a chaise lounge that is now a contemporary icon. For 10 years, Marc served as the Creative Director of Qantas Airways, and also serves as the Designer for Special Projects at Apple, where he worked on the very first Apple Watch. His highly sought-after designs regularly set record-breaking prices on the contemporary art market, and his work can be seen in museums across the globe, from New York’s MoMA to the Pompidou in Paris. The trailblazer blurs the lines between art and design, and is known for creating futuristic objects with innovative materials, whether it’s cars, watches, footwear, or aircraft interiors. The same philosophy informs his furniture—Marc has crafted desks, home accessories, vases, and accent chairs with streamlined, curvaceous silhouettes that are truly unique and cutting edge.
