Kevin Reilly

Kevin Reilly is an American designer famous for his luxury lighting. His career began in the 1970s as a furniture manufacturer for interior designers. In 2001, he decided to focus solely on lighting and created the Altar, an electric wax candle that provides permanent ambient light. Then in 2006, Kevin Reilly was one of the first designers to launch an upscale collection of outdoor lighting. Reilly and his team of artisans craft high-end table lampsfloor lampspendant lights and chandeliers in the designer’s Montgomery, Alabama, workshop. Kevin Reilly lighting is handcrafted from start to finish. The team cuts, welds and assembles raw metal by hand before sandblasting it. From there, the metal is cleaned, darkened and hand-finished for an heirloom-quality finished product. Candles for fixtures are hand-carved and hand-shaped for impeccable quality. The materials used in Kevin Reilly lamps also contribute to the unique beauty and quality of each piece. Along with metal, materials like crystal glass, candle wax and even paper are employed to create one-of-a-kind lighting masterpieces. One example of this designer’s work is the Math Ring Hanging Light, which is a modern, minimalist chandelier featuring a ring of faux candles on a steel espresso-finished base. Kevin Reilly lighting is available for sale at Sotheby’s Home and can also be found at more than 70 design showrooms around the world.
