With a professional career of excellence and originality spanning over 50 years, John Saladino is considered one of the most distinguished and talented interior designers in the world. His work covers multiple disciplines, from architecture, interiors, and landscaping to restoration and furniture design. John graduated from the Yale School of Art & Architecture and then went on to work in Rome with Italian architect Piero Sartogo. As a result, his residential and commercial design projects draw heavily from historic European influences, and possess a serene, painterly quality. With projects as far and wide as Kuwait and Greece, John believes in mixing the old with the new, of blending time-worn, classic pieces with unexpected elements like sleek, industrial finishes. The designer has produced furniture collections for the likes of Baker, Bloomingdale’s, and Knapp and Tubbs, and in 1987, started his own line, which included club chairs, credenzas, curved sofas, console tables, dining tables, table lamps, and more. As with his interiors, his furniture has an old-world elegance and couture details that feel refreshingly modern all at once.
