Georg Jensen

The Georg Jensen brand is known for its timeless silver designs and top quality craftsmanship. Trained as a master silversmith, artist Georg Jensen founded his business in Copenhagen in 1904 and rose to become one of Denmark's most influential and beloved designers. Jensen's fine craft infused a sense of elegance, lightness, and sophistication into his pieces. He was influenced by Art Nouveau design but added his own stamp of creativity, making his brand distinct. Jensen's firm originally began with jewelry making and expanded to offer numerous home items. He became known for his bold but sophisticated artistic style, as well as the fineness of the silver he used in his designs. Jensen collaborated with and employed other notable designers, including Johan Rohd, Sigvaard Bernadotte, and Henry Koppel. A deliberate working method has been seen as a further hallmark of Jensen's style, along with an interest in nature as a theme. One of the most popular flatware patterns in this brand is Jensen's Lily of the Valley design, from 1913. Another well-known design is the Acorn pattern, designed by Johan Rohd in 1915. The company is still in existence today and is dedicated to offering the same quality that its founder insisted upon. Jensen’s designs include candelabras, coffee and tea service sets, tureens, lidded serving bowls, open bowls, bonbonnieres, cutlery, pins, brooches, rings, bracelets, perfume bottles, watches, necklaces, earrings, trays, jewelry boxes, cuff links, armchairs, and more.
