Leopold Stickley is recognized for his talent in craftsmanship, particularly for his Cherry Valley collection of storage furniture. He co-founded Stickley along with his brother, Gustav. In 1900, decades before environmental stewardship was a priority for designers, Leopold Stickley adopted the philosophy of “living in harmony with nature” to guide the design techniques used. Inspired by early American furniture, the Cherry Valley line paved the way for an expansive selection of storage cabinets, coffee tables, dressers and more, all reflecting a meticulous attention to detail and design. The company’s driving philosophy comes from three Flemish words: Al Ik Kan, or “to the best of my ability.” Stickley designs furniture that is meant to go from generation to generation, creating dining room tables and chairs where memories are made, sleigh beds and sectional sofas with timeless appeal. Their pieces are produced from premium hardwood and the finest upholstery, giving your home a cozy, welcoming and upscale look. One classic Stickley fixture is Leopold’s Chair, a leather lounge chair with a slight recline and four strong legs that are cherry wood. Everything is handcrafted with sustainability at the forefront of production in their Manlius, New York factory. This manufacturer is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council which complies with all environmental regulations while still embracing the care that Leopold Stickley took into designing and executing his pieces.
