Petronio Furniture

While working at a furniture store, Frank Petronio noticed something: there just wasn’t much of a selection when it came to simple, classic tables in proper sizes and finishes. So, taking advantage of his background in interior design, he developed a line of custom tables to fill the gap. Several of Petronio’s pieces were featured in Interior DesignHouse Beautiful and Elle Décor; the latter rated his West Creek Table among “The 10 Most Dreamy Bedside Tables.” Founded in 1994, Petronio Furniture produced its own unique and modern reinterpretations of traditional American styles such as Mission and Art Deco, with influences from historic world cultures: Classical Greece, Imperial China, and others. Petronio designed and produced a total of 12 different tables, the most striking certainly being the Overlook Table. Available in three different sizes, the simple but captivating design featured four pieces of wood layered unevenly; the unusual juxtaposition lifts the table from the mundane to a unique conversation piece. The company’s Kang Table was inspired by Chinese designs from the 16th-century Ming period. The Trilithon Low Table, a rustic form in cracked white oak, rests with its top surface just 16 inches from the floor. The firm also produced consoles, seating, desks and bedroom furniture. The bedroom furniture included dressers, night tables, cabinets, chests and headboards. Petronio’s chairs were classically designed, luxuriously upholstered and elegant. The Key Largo Chair and Biscayne Lounge Chair were particular standouts in this category, with low backs and extra-thick seat cushions for maximum comfort. Petronio Furniture was offered in eight different wood finishes including ash-anthracite, ash-dark brown, ash-coffee, classic walnut and cerused walnut.
