Noir Furniture

Noir Furniture was founded in 2004 by Swiss designer Georg Baehler and partner Stephanie Lu. The brand makes dining tables, desks, hutches and other stylish, practical furniture pieces. Notable publications such as LuxeHouse Beautiful and the Wall Street Journal have featured this brand, which produces fine handcrafted furnishings under the direction of Baehler as lead designer. Currently, Noir Furniture has showrooms around the country, in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and other major cities. Noir Furniture pieces are inspired by three elements — classic design, local materials and the craftspeople who make Baehler’s creative visions a reality. Baehler makes pencil sketches of every piece of furniture, with a creative output so prolific that workshop artisans have to scramble to keep pace. Many of the furnishings from Noir Furniture are done in a contemporary transitional style, such as the Manhattan Mirror Top Desk. It has a black metal frame with an antique mirror top and features geometric detailing. Another contemporary piece from this brand is the Aldo Dining Table, with a modernist base crafted from sturdy iron and a solid walnut top. Industrial pieces are represented as well, such as the Zinc Rustic Top Desk, a hammered zinc body with a reclaimed wood top that makes for a raw, gently distressed appearance.
