Marbro Lamp Co. Los Angeles

Marbro Lamp Co. Los Angeles produces lamps that are highly sought after by a select, elite group of collectors. With their sophisticated style, the lamps add opulence, beauty and grace to any room. In addition to lamps, the original Marbro store in Los Angeles’ garment district also produced captivatingly original, sometimes life-sized, animal figurines, many of which were purchased by celebrities like Jack Webb of Dragnet and other members of Hollywood’s elite. The company also has a unique history. Founded in Los Angeles post-World War II by the Markoff brothers, Marbro Lamp Company specialized in made-to-order, custom lighting built with premium materials sourced from around the world. Brass from India, Italian alabaster, German and French crystal and delicate porcelain from Japan and China all found their way to the Marbro workshops to be made into exquisite table lamps. Artisans handcrafted Marbro lamps and shades with meticulous techniques that set the lamps apart. For example, the company was especially known for developing proprietary methods of staining and tinting brass. The lavish style of the lamps has been termed Hollywood Regency, a vintage design that fits best in ornate homes but can also create an exciting focal point or accent note in mid-century modern and traditional spaces.
