Kieselstein-Cord

Kieselstein-Cord is American designer Barry Kieselstein-Cord’s eponymous luxury brand founded in 1972 with the aim of creating “sculpture for the body.” Each released collection has been immediately met with an unprecedented level of critical and commercial acclaim as both art objects and trend-defying wearable pieces, garnering honors such as the Art Directors Club of New York Award, the Coty American Fashion Critics Award and the inimitable Council of Fashion Designers of America Award. Subsequently, the Louvre in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as voracious private collectors including Jay-Z, Karl Lagerfeld, Madonna and Oprah Winfrey have all acquired Kieselstein-Cord pieces. They first saw success in the jewelry industry and Kieselstein-Cord quickly expanded to include handbags, luggage, home furnishings, eyewear, timepieces and other fine accessories. Popular items include their structured leather handbags and sterling silver jewelry that are easily identifiable by their bold animal figures and references to antiquity. The brand creates whimsical statement belt buckles featuring silver alligators, golden suns, serpents and horses, among other nature-inspired designs reminiscent of art nouveau. Through its mix of classic materials and playful styles, Kieselstein-Cord has become one of those rare brands that is at once both cutting-edge and timeless.
