Jonathan Adler

In the early 1990s, New Jersey-born artist and designer Jonathan Adler left his traditional full-time job to pursue his passion for pottery, a fortuitous choice as by 1993 Barneys New York purchased his first pottery collection. Within a few short years, Adler opened his first store in Soho, New York, and a design empire was born; today, he continues to produce his signature pottery, but has expanded his collections to include furniture, textiles, lighting, and everything in between. Beyond his expertly crafted luxury homeware, Adler has become a leader within interior design, having completed commissions for both residential and commercial projects, and his reputation has grown exponentially through his several published books and tenure as judge on Bravo’s Top Design. Over the course of his career, Adler has collaborated with numerous major brands, including ongoing partnerships with Fisher-Price, Kravet, and The Shade Store, as well as limited edition collaborations with Clinique, Formica, and Tumi, to name just a few. At the heart of Adler’s design work is a dedication to whimsicality, livability, and aesthetic extravagance, but never at the expensive of quality or luxury.
