Heywood Wakefield

Founded in 1897, Heywood-Wakefield is a leading manufacturer of mid-century modern furniture. Best known for their solid wood furnishings, the company gained popularity in the mid-20th century thanks to its comprehensive collection of Art Deco-inspired items, including dining room furniture sets, bookcases, sideboards and buffets. All Heywood-Wakefield furniture pieces—new and old—are constructed of 100 percent, American-grown Northern Yellow Birch wood acquired from eco-conscious tree farms in New Hampshire. Composed entirely of solid wood, the strength and durability of Heywood-Wakefield products are ensured by cutting individual furniture components from a single piece of hand-selected lumber and by only using the sturdiest reinforced joining methods. Today, Heywood-Wakefield remains dedicated to preserving the legacy of its superior craftsmanship while integrating modern technology and contemporary styles. Current pieces are often still finished by hand—just as the vintage furnishings were—to recreate the look of the company’s classic vintage items.
