Take a cue from New York Spring 2020 Fashion Week with three bold pattern trends that are making their way from the runway to your doorstep.

Moody Florals

Gone are the pretty pastel florals of summer. It’s time for more serious blooms in moody tones.
Designer Tip: Florals in darker tones still have the wonderful, natural shapes of nature but look a bit more no-nonsense. If you’re worried about florals looking too childlike in your home, darker floral prints are a great way to give this pattern a whirl.

Mad for Plaid

Outfits mixing plaids of all shapes, colors and sizes are a hit for fall, and will carry your wardrobe through into the new year. They will add an over-the-top stripy feel to your wardrobe and décor.
Designer Tip: Plaids are often thought of as a country- or mountain-style pattern, but modern plaids are a whole new game. Use plaids in non-traditional colors or at different scales to make this pattern look fresh again.

Leopard Print

Using leopard print in unexpected ways is part of the fun, whether you’re dressing yourself or decorating your home.
Designer Tip: The key is using just the right amount of leopard print without going overboard. Try this wild pattern in unexpected places, in nonconventional colors or on pieces that historically wouldn’t use this pattern.
