Inspired by his Southern California upbringing, Jeff Andrews and his team create interior and exterior spaces with equal magic. Jeff’s attention to detail and demand for excellence is reflected in his top-notch group of master crafts people and artisans.

What inspired this career path for you?
I’ve always been inspired by variations in peoples’ lifestyles and the idea of creating beautiful and original homes for different walks of life. I love this career because it’s not about any one style or design element — it’s about the big picture. I love interior design and how it positively impacts my clients’ lives.
What is your go-to source for inspiration?
I love travel as inspiration. It takes you out of your element and routine, so you’re noticing the details. It’s everything from architecture to shopping to nature — but it’s really about observing the different lifestyles and ways that people live around the world that inspire me.
Tell us about your creative process.
My creative process is constantly evolving. Sometimes it’s from the ground up and starting with a rug, sometimes we begin with a statement wallpaper on the ceiling, or even a piece of art. It’s hard to define where the creative process starts and ends; it’s just a part of my life, and that evolution is what keeps it exciting.
Describe your style in 6 words or less.
Layered. Thoughtful. Glamorous. Textured. Livable. Sophisticated.
What’s a staple in your tool kit?
Laser Distance Measurer — a digital tape measure. One click for exact dimensions.
Who do you look up to in the design world?
Artisans at the top of their fields. Finish carpenters, furniture makers, painters, stone fabricators. These are the people who make the vision a reality.

If you could design a space for anyone, what kind of space and for whom would it be?
I’d love to do a kitchen for Martha Stewart. The level of creativity and organization needed for that project would be very inspirational.

Tell us your favorite design-related word, phrase, or quote.
“God is in the details.”

Which design blog, website, TV show, or magazine would you be lost without?
Elle Decor. I love the fresh, new direction of Editor-in-Chief Whitney Robinson.

What do you love about Viyet?
I love Viyet because it’s a constantly new selection of pre-shopped product ideas. There’s a reason to visit the site regularly because you don’t want to miss out on something — especially when you’re waiting for the perfect piece to catch your eye.
