From May 8-10, designers and design aficionados gathered for LEGENDS X at La Cienega Design Quarter in Los Angeles. The highly anticipated event always centers on a theme – and this year, it was “Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Home”, an exploration of the possible evolution of current design trends into the future.

To get the conversation started, Viyet held an Influencer Breakfast on May 9 at Mecox at La Cienega Design Quarter, featuring some of the brightest talents in design: Justina Blakeney, designer and founder of Jungalow; Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, founders and creative directors of The Great; and Estee Stanley, principal designer for Hancock Design and owner of Au Fudge. The discussion (moderated by Viyet CEO Elizabeth Brown) covered a diverse range of thought-provoking topics, including the importance of having a process when creating, along with the concept of vintage influences as the inspiration for a fresh new design. Overall, it was a great discussion – and even a greater glimpse into today’s most interesting creative minds.

The other must-see event at LEGENDS X? Undoubtedly the 50+ showroom and gallery displays at La Cienega Design Quarter. Each display was created by a leading design talent and had to draw on this year’s theme. Paloma Contreras designed the window for Mecox, and the result was simply spectacular. We hope to see you next year at LEGENDS.
