If you’ve been at one of our many events, you’ve likely met Beth Felsen (above, with Jan Showers and Elizabeth Brown), Sotheby’s Home’s engaging Vice President of Trade and Showroom Partnerships. She took a moment to get us up to speed on her latest inspirations, along with what brought her to work with us.

What inspired you to work in the field of design?
I’ve forever been interested in interior design, home, hotels, travel, and beauty. I started my career as a buyer for a home retailer, then moved into product development/merchandising and creating home/lifestyle brands. Then, I moved into building out the trade business, working with designers.
What is your favorite thing about working at Sotheby’s Home?
I am able to work with and collaborate with everyone in the design industry from designers, showrooms, manufacturers, editors, and publicists to help grow the Sotheby’s Home business. The design industry is all about these relationships.
What showrooms are inspiring you lately?
Coup D’Etat, E.J. Victor – Kelly Wearstler Collection, Christian Liaigre, Studio Four.
What designers should be on everyone’s radar?
Steven Gambrel, Jean-Louis Deniot, Kelly Wearstler, Kara Mann, Caleb Anderson.
