What do you do with beautiful designer furniture, accessories, and artwork when it’s time to move on? That’s precisely the problem we set out to solve when we first launched Sotheby’s Home (formerly Viyet) in 2013. What started as a curated consignment marketplace quickly became the preferred platform for design aficionados to buy and sell the best in pre-owned décor, antiques, and so much more. Our evolution from start-up to established company caught the attention of Sotheby’s, which acquired Viyet in February 2018.
In October 2018, Viyet became Sotheby’s Home, building upon the success of the Viyet marketplace and reflecting our continued focus on new categories, including prints, photography and contemporary art.
Though our name has changed, our commitment to design leadership, extraordinary customer service, and technological innovation remains the same. As Sotheby’s Home, we continue to be the premier online consignment platform for buying and selling exceptional pre-owned furniture, antiques, vintage pieces, art, lighting, collections, and everything else found in stylish homes across the country.
ELIZABETH BROWNCHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Elizabeth Brown is the CEO of Sotheby’s Home, where she is responsible for overseeing all operations and business strategy. Previously, Elizabeth served as the CEO of Viyet, a full-service online marketplace for high-end consignment furniture and décor, from shortly after its launch in 2013 until the company was acquired in February 2018 by Sotheby’s. Prior to leading Viyet, Elizabeth led Corporate Development at Poppin and business intelligence at Lot18, a flash sale site for wine and gourmet food. Elizabeth holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and lives in Manhattan with her husband and son.
Leslie NelsonVP OF OPERATIONS
With over 20 years of experience in luxury, retail, and e-commerce, Leslie has strategic and tactical experience in all areas of customer service. Prior to joining Sotheby’s Home, Leslie was the head of service at Chanel, Tourneau, and Bluefly, and founded her own consulting business, working with some of the world’s best brands including Burberry, Hourglass Cosmetics, and Thomson Reuters.
Kobe AttiasVP OF ENGINEERING
Vice President of Engineering, Kobe is no newcomer in the startup scene. He comes to Sotheby’s Home directly from Rent the Runway, where he was one of the first engineers. Prior to that, Kobe co-founded his own startup, Shop Informed, and also worked as a software engineer in different areas of the world, including Amsterdam and Herzliya, Israel. Kobe holds a BS in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Tamara RosenthalVP OF MARKETING
Tamara is the Vice President of Marketing for Sotheby’s Home, where she is responsible for overseeing the brand’s overall marketing strategy. She is a seasoned marketing executive with over 20 years of experience working for multichannel fashion retailers. Prior to joining Sotheby’s Home, Tamara was the Vice President of Marketing at Fashion to Figure, a women’s plus-size fashion retailer. Tamara has held senior marketing positions at ideeli.com (later sold to Groupon), Lacoste USA, and Ferragamo, where she developed programs across both digital and traditional marketing channels. She holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Alex GilbertVP, SALES & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Alex is a design professional with experience in the media, tech, gallery, and auction industries. She specializes in strategically developing business opportunities and generating revenue for startup and existing businesses. Alex spent more than four years at Artsy, where she was Associate Director, Design. Prior to Artsy, Alex was Cataloguer in the design department at Phillips Auction House after beginning her career in architecture. Alex holds a BS in Architecture from University of Virginia and an MA in Design History from Parsons.
